We are excited to sponsor Brian L. Wilmer, a Graduate Research Assistance at West Virginia University, as he presents his research at the APS March Meeting 2016 in Baltimore, MD. Brian is a recipient of our Cold Science Exploration Awards Student Travel Grant.
Student Travel Grant - Brian L. Wilmer
Posted 10 March, 2016
DESCRIPTION OF PRINCIPAL RESEARCH:
The research team uses two dimensional Fourier transform spectroscopy to study the third order nonlinear response of the system to 3 ultrafast laser pulses. They are able to deconvolve inhomo-/homogeneous broadening mechanisms and quantitatively measure the degree of coherent couple between excited states.
